School Lockdown Drill 10.19.20

Dear Parents/Guardians,

On Monday, October 19th, Central-Denison completed a scheduled lockdown drill. Slight modifications were made to ensure social distancing could be maintained during this drill.  As planned, the police department was present during the drill to observe and also offer guidance to our administrative team.  During the drill our teachers and students did a tremendous job following the directions they were given and carrying them out appropriately.  The message communicated to students, both before and after the drill, was one of appreciation for their cooperation and also a reinforced message that school is a safe place for them.

Following the drill, our administrative team had a brief meeting with the police department to reflect on the drill.  Maintaining school safety for students and staff is of utmost importance to us. We continue to practice various emergency procedures throughout each school year, as preparation is the key to success in the event of an emergency.

If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact your school's main office.

Thank you,

Becky Buhler
