Good Afternoon CenDen Families!
We hope that this finds you healthy, safe, and happy. While our new way of learning has presented a unique set of challenges for all of us, we think it is important to celebrate our successes.
We are incredibly proud of the planning and collaboration of our staff to prepare for this challenge. This is new to them, but they are trying new things and creatively working hard to communicate and provide support.
We greatly appreciate the overwhelming acceptance and enthusiasm of our students and families! We know this isn’t easy for you. You are trying to manage a household, while creating a positive and engaging learning environment at the same time, and many of you with more than one child. We absolutely LOVE seeing all of the pictures that are being shared. They help to fill the “kid-fix” void that we feel as we spend our days in this empty building. We appreciate the creativity in creating comfy and productive spaces for learning. Please don’t allow this to overwhelm your family. Take it in small chunks, if that’s what works best for you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you are struggling with directions or concepts. We know our Math series can be a little tricky sometimes and technology, well that can take on a life all its own. When in doubt, you can never go wrong by reading with your child or allowing them to listen to stories. We have provided many options for you.
As you have probably noticed, there is a Breakfast/Lunch pick-up option for all students. Tomorrow (Friday), it will be offered in the Commons area at Badger High School. During our Spring Break, there will be a volunteer group from the community that will be offering food pick-up in the CenDen parking lot. Beginning on March 30th, pick-up will again be offered at Badger, with additional pick-up along the Cook Street entrance at CenDen. Please watch for more details on the District website, Facebook, and other publications.
The real sunshine in this hubbub is that you get to spend time with your kids. They are amazing. We miss their smiling faces, their energy and genuine joy. The building is very quiet without them. Unfortunately, we know that Spring Break plans were changed for many of you. While we know that it may not be the same as trip to Disney World or a warm sandy beach, while you are at home, please take time to really enjoy some family time, maybe dinner at the kitchen table for a change or an all family movie or walk.
Please don’t hesitate to call if you need something. Mr. Nugent and I will be working regular hours and Mrs. Draper will help to keep the office open from 8:00-12:00 through at least, April 3rd. We have our fingers crossed for a short hiatus followed by the opportunity to finish out the school year. Stay healthy!
