Dear CenDen Families,
We hope that this letter finds you safe, at home, and healthy. We miss seeing your smiling faces and feeling the excitement and energy that our students bring to our building.
As you are aware, the announcement was made last week that Wisconsin schools will remain closed through the end of the school year. With this announcement, we wanted to share an important upcoming event at Central-Denison.
To more simply provide instructional materials to our families, we will be having “Pick-up Parade” days on Friday, May 1st and Monday, May 4th from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm at Central-Denison. On these days, our families will be able to pick up instructional materials that students will need to get them through to the end of May. This will also be a great time to return their library books.
This parade event will be done in a simple drive-through fashion. Families should enter from Cook Street, stop at the appropriate grade level tent to pick-up materials & drop-off library books, then proceed through the line to exit on Madison Street. Families can pick up materials for all of their CenDen students at the same time and will have the chance to wave and send good wishes to the staff that will be distributing materials. Please watch for notification from your child’s teacher about the pick-up materials, as it may differ from teacher to teacher and grade to grade. For your convenience, we have included a map to assist with this process.
It is expected that your child will participate in instruction during this break from the “normal” school setting. Please talk with your child about the expectations from their teacher and follow through to be sure they are participating as expected. It is very important that we work as a team to support your child’s learning.
In June, we will have a coordinated day for students to pick-up all materials that were left at school. On this day, students will also be asked to return their Chromebook, charger, and any additional library books. We will share specific details with you prior to this event.
We continue to be amazed by the work that is shared between our students and teachers and recognize the challenges of keeping our students engaged during these unprecedented times. Thank you for your continued support, and as always, please don’t hesitate to contact us with your questions or concerns. We are in the office from 8:00-3:00 daily, so feel free to call the school or email us.
TOGETHER WE CAN!
Mrs. Becky Buhler & Mr. Colin Nugent
